Toys of Times Past is pleased to offer this Very Rare, Original, Antique 1925 Louis Marx Whee-Whiz Auto Racer Mechanical Tin Litho Windup Toy Complete with Scanned Copy of Instruction Sheet. This is a scarce example which is one of the earliest and most difficult to find of the Marx tin litho clockwork toys. It was the very first toy produced in the Marx highway & speedway category. It is extremely difficult to find in any condition, typically they are found incomplete, rusty and not working. To add to the rarety of this toy, I have discovered that it was produced in two variations. One version has the stop/start switch coming out of the side of the base and this rare newly discovered version with the stop/start switch coming out of the top of the base. See last 2 pictures for comparison. This toy is original and complete including all four original racers. The instruction sheet is a scanned copy of the very rare original. It's in excellent plus condition and works great. When wound and turned on, the round track pivots & spins simultaneously on its base causing the four racers to race around the track with an undetermined winner at the end of each race. Click on the following video clip to watch this toy on my Youtube channel. Video Clip It features all tin construction and some of the finest lithography found on any toy. The base simulates a circular race track from the spectators perspective complete with track, speeding 1920's racers, fence, trees, sky, etc. The circular track features four color coded lanes and the center of the track features a racing club house scene with automobiles parked nearby while a zeppelin flies overhead. The circular track measures 13" in diameter. The base measures 8" in diameter and each car measures 2" long. This will make a rare addition to your collection!
